Upper Bay Counseling and Support Services's
21st Annual "Expressions of Healing" Art Exhibition
Opening Reception, May 4, 2018, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Each year, Upper Bay Counseling, in partnership with the Cecil County Arts Council, provides the Art Therapy program, "Expressions of Healing." This program encourages artful expression as a component of the behavioral health recovery of UBCSS clients. As a part of "May is Mental Health Month," an art exhibit at the Cecil County Arts Council is held to showcase these amazing pieces for everyone to see. Join us for amazing art, uplifting stories and light refreshments. It is free to the public and it is encouraged for all to explore "courage on canvas!"
In a joint venture with the main office of the Cecil County Public Library, the arts council has been offered an additional location for our featured artists to hang (and sell) their work! “Gallery 301” has opened at the Elkton Library branch and they welcome you to rotate your show from the front gallery of CCAC to the walls of CCPL! With more than 900 visitors, each day, the library is an excellent venue for your work to be seen and to be sold. Sales will be handled the same as they are at the gallery.
If you are interested in being featured at the library, let us know.
Join the poets every first and third Tuesday of the month. Entertaining and always clever, these "word wizards" are worth a listen. Lunchlines meets at noon in the bright, cheery gallery for about an hour. Bring your lunch and enjoy! All ages are welcome and participation is free for all CCAC members.
Artists In Action
Bring your supplies and join artists in the gallery to paint, draw, or sculpt the day away. Beginners and professionals meet to work on projects, and to share tips and tricks. You never know who will set up in the gallery! All ages and skill levels are welcome. Always FREE, come in every Wednesday from 10:30 am - 2:00 pm and spend the day with the CCAC.
